Split Shoulder Diamond Rings
Diamond Rings with Split Double Shoulders
Beyond the traditional and more modern styles of diamond ring, one of the popular style elements relating to diamond rings and engagement rings has to be the split shank or double shoulder. The basis for this design attribute is a shank which divides or splits part way along, extending into two or more strands which form the shoulders of the ring. These shoulders can be plain or diamond set for full effect, and the extent of diamond setting can even extend fully around the underside of the band itself. This obviously has sizing implications, with even a small area of plain metal below the finger allowing for a minor size adjustment.
The above design featured as one of our Platinum diamond ring commissions and featured a total of 1.30cts of round brilliant cut diamonds. The central diamond measured 6.5mm surrounded evenly by four squared claws designed to accommodate a graduating suite of meleé diamonds along the band.
We have put together some further information on split shank engagement rings with some examples and information and extend our service for CAD design and manufacture for any specific requirements such as the above design manufactured in 950 Platinum.
